1 paisa per second calling throughout India

Aircell following TATA DocoMo’s Pay Per Second Plan – Aircel launches 1 paisa per second calling throughout India
It was TATA DoCoMo (GSM Mobile service) which first introduced Pay Per Second plan. DoCoMo’s novel mobile tariff plan definitely created a stir in the Indian telecom space. If not, why should Aircell rush up with a similar plan. Yeah, Aircel Kolkata announced a very similar mobile scheme as that of TATA DoCoMo’s – Pay Per Second plan. In fact, Aircell claims that their plan is way better than DoCoMo’s. With Aircel Kolkata you can make calls to any mobile network in India at just 1 paisa per second and at no extra cost.
Aircell following TATA DocoMo's Pay Per Second Plan - Aircell launches 1 paisa per second calling throughout India
According to Aircel ‘Pay Per Second Plan’, All new customer will be charged at 1 paisa per second for all local and STD calls to any mobile/landline network across India. There is small catch in the STD rates however. The STD calling at 1 paisa will be applicable up to first 30,000 seconds only. After that 2 paisa per second will be charged in that month to any network across India. Where as, TATA DoCoMo provides STD at 1 paisa for first 27,000 seconds only. Aircel mobile’s existing customer can activate the plan by calling toll free number 121 from their mobile without any extra cost.
As DoCoMo’s this plan has been rolled out only for the prepaid customers, I think. Here are the tariff details :-
Aircel Prepaid Starter Kit
» Includes Lifetime Validity SIM
» Costs Rs 49/- (zero talktime)
» Includes “Pay per Second” plan at no extra cost.
All Local Calls – 1p/second (any network 24×7)
All STD calls – 1p/second (for first 30,000 second{500 Minutes} beyond that 2 paisa per second in that month.)
Local – 60 paise per SMS
National – Rs 1.20 per SMS — why is this still so costly ??
International – Rs 5 per SMS
